To all our Members that have TEAMCARE Insurance coverage.....
The Methodist Hospital System has pulled out of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Network... That includes LeBonheur Children's Hospital... That means if you use their facilities, it will be out of network and may not be covered under TeamCare... or covered at a higher cost to you.
As far as your doctor, he or she may still be 'in network'. You will have to ask them and then ask if they provide services at a different hospital. Some doctors use both the Methodist Hospital system and the Baptist Hospital system.
We hope BC/BS can work something out and get a new contract with the Methodist Hospital system, but in the meantime, if you have any questions about YOUR coverage, you can call TeamCare direct at 800-323-5000 to make sure your procedure will be covered 'in network'. And, just to be sure, you need to ask YOUR DOCTOR if he or she is "in the BlueCross/BlueShield network".
